Zap Mama & Erykah Badu - Bandy Bandy

Zap Mama is one of those group's whose song I used to hear here and there when I was younger. So when I rediscovered them a few months ago, it was like I'd been listening to them all my life, really. There's something about the blend of afro-centric music with the more accepted hip-hop or R&B that seems really conventional. What I would love to see is for African music or African musicians is a lot more exploration. That being said, I love Marie Daulne, Zap Mama's lead singer, and really she is Zap Mama since the group has been made up of a revolving door of artist including Sally Nyolo, another artist whose music really resonates with me. Erykah Badu and her should collaborate a lot more. They're a lot similar in their 'eccentricities'.
