Those of you aware and 'close' to the HIV pandemic in Africa (my ex-stepfather is now dying from it) probably couldn't help making that connection when you hear the words of this song...and this is a crazy tangent, but there is this group of prostitutes in Nairobi, Kenya who have developed a resistance to the HIV virus by...just as the song says, staying positive! The fact that they are exposed to the virus day in and day out means that their immune system, while being unable to ward off other STDs, is capable of eradicating any trace of the virus in these women, due to the constant vigilence brought on by their reoccurring infections!
